The word dogwood comes from dagwood, from the use of the slender stems of very hard wood for making 'dags' (daggers, skewers).   This doorknocker is sand-cast in yellow or red brass, with a choice of nickel plate or oiled bronze.  Measures 6.5 W x 6.25 H.  All Colby Smith door knockers are made to order.
