The pineapple was often placed over the door in colonial times to invite friends to celebrate the safe return of a clipper ship.   It is a symbol of hospitality.   This doorknocker is sand-cast in yellow or red brass, with a choice of nickel plate or oiled bronze.  Measures 8 H x 4.5 W.  All Colby Smith door knockers are made to order.
